Miranda and Jordan’s wedding celebration was at a wine club in Denver called Birch Road! They had an intimate elopement in Hawaii the year before, but still wanted to celebrate with their loved ones. Their upscale funky celebration was one to remember! The wine and espresso martinis were flowing, joints and cigars were lit, everyone was dancing – definitely a proper Colorado celebration 🙂
Often I don’t have the chance to meet couples until the wedding for celebrations like this. I’ve always found it’s important that I find a way to connect with them and their guests quickly, so they feel comfortable around me. Miranda told me she also wanted me to feel like a guest during the night and to have wine and food while mingling. Halfway through the night, I already met everyone and felt like I had a good sense of who Miranda and Jordan were as a couple. It was so obvious that they are so loved by everyone and family is so important to them.
As a photographer who loves documentary style and truly connecting with people, I felt like I was able to really thrive in this environment. Our world is always changing, and I believe people crave community and connection more than ever. Bringing that into every aspect of my life has been really important. It helps me feel more grounded and connected while also giving me the chance to be a better photographer for my community of couples. <3
