Photojournalism is the main aspect of my photography that stays consistent no matter what type of session it is. This is what keeps me grounded in knowing my purpose in life. Story telling through images and writing is something I've been passionate about ever since I studied photography in college. No matter if it's connecting with nature's beauty or connecting with the people around me, I truly care about telling their story. It's easy to wake up and see all the bad surrounding us, but sharing the joy, love, and light can change your perspective on how you feel every day. Take a look through my blog entries to see how you feel through my art of storytelling.

I’m super excited to share Andrew & Ellen’s Georgia engagement session with their sweet pup. We got to do their session while I was visiting my parents in Statesboro, Georgia. Andrew and Ellen were able to see my parent’s home during our engagement party. They loved it the idea of just driving over here and letting their dog roam around while we took some photos.
I always love being able to take photos on my parent’s land because it’s where I grew up and learned photography. It’s funny to remember each little memory of my brother and I rolling down the hill or my friends I made model for me while posing couples for their engagement photos 10-15 years later.
Another reason why this session is so important is because there some of my sweetest friends! Andrew went to college with Chris and I met Ellen through him and one of my other best friends. I’m so excited to capture these photos as well as their wedding photos. It’s so much fun when I know most of the wedding party and get to know their family through capturing the sweet moments they will have on their wedding day in Dublin, Georgia next year.
Thankfully, I’ve captured a lot of friends weddings over the years and I will be able to enjoy from the camera for half the day and as a guest during the reception… because if y’all know me, I’ll be the first on the dance floor and the first grabbing desserts 🙂
Enjoy these photos we got during this rainy georgia sunset! If you’re looking for a wedding photographer, I’m currently booking for 2023 and 2024 all over. We’re building the Mary Lee Photo team, so you’ll have some options between photographers with my editing style. I would love to hear more about your wedding!
